Ingredients

  • 200 grams Passionfruit pulp
  • 250 milliliters Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 150 milliliters Water
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar over medium heat.

Step 2

Stir regularly until the sugar is fully dissolved to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the passionfruit pulp, freshly squeezed orange juice, lemon juice, and orange zest.

Step 4

Once the simple syrup has cooled, add it to the bowl with the fruit mixture. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 5

Pour the mixture into a blender or use an immersion blender to ensure the texture is smooth and even.

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to a shallow, freezer-safe container and cover it with a lid or plastic wrap.

Step 7

Place the container in the freezer for about 4-5 hours or until the sorbet is firm, stirring every hour with a fork to break up ice crystals and create a smooth texture.

Step 8

When ready to serve, remove the sorbet from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of minutes to soften slightly before scooping.

Step 9

Serve in bowls or cones, and garnish with fresh orange slices or mint leaves if desired.
