Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry sheets
  • 500 grams pork sausage meat
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped fresh parsley
  • 50 grams breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the pork sausage meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well integrated.

Step 3

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to ensure they are smooth.

Step 4

Cut each sheet in half lengthwise to create four rectangles.

Step 5

Divide the sausage mixture into four portions, shaping each into a long log that matches the length of each pastry strip.

Step 6

Place a sausage log along one edge of a pastry rectangle. Brush the opposite edge with a little water to help seal.

Step 7

Roll the pastry over the sausage mixture, pressing gently to seal the edge.

Step 8

Repeat the process with the remaining sausage logs and pastry strips.

Step 9

Cut each roll into six equal pieces, giving you a total of 24 rolls.

Step 10

Place the rolls on the prepared baking tray, seam side down, leaving some space in between each roll.

Step 11

Beat the milk and remaining egg together in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the egg wash.

Step 12

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the egg-washed tops of the rolls.

Step 13

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the sausage is cooked through.

Step 14

Allow to cool slightly before serving to enjoy warm, flavorful sausage rolls.
