Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Pineapple slices (fresh or canned, 1/2-inch thick)
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Cheddar cheese slices
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Use clean hands to mix until evenly combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 2

Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grill grates or pan with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

Step 3

Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done. During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt.

Step 4

While the burgers are grilling, place the pineapple slices on the grill. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until they develop grill marks and are heated through. Remove and set aside.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill for about 1 minute if desired.

Step 6

To assemble the burgers, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, a cheese-topped burger patty, and a grilled pineapple slice. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately, and enjoy the tropical flavors of Parsley's Pineapple Burgers!
