Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter (melted for pan)
  • 1 tablespoon Parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to blend the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 5

Gradually add the whole milk to the mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Pour the melted butter into the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking pan or a cast-iron skillet. Tilt the pan to evenly coat the bottom.

Step 7

Using a large spoon, scoop out about 8 portions of dough and place them directly into the buttered pan. The biscuits can be close together.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the biscuits are cooked through.

Step 9

Remove the pan from the oven and let the biscuits cool slightly. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish before serving.
