Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 ounces Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup Pecans (finely chopped)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.75 cup Light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.125 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, cream cheese, and flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 2

Shape the dough into 24 small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Press each ball into the cups of an ungreased mini muffin tin, forming a shell by pressing evenly along the sides and bottom. Set aside.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 4

In another mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.

Step 5

Spoon the pecan mixture evenly into each prepared dough shell, filling them about three-quarters full.

Step 6

Bake the tassies in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the pastry is lightly golden.

Step 7

Remove the tassies from the oven and let cool in the muffin tin for about 10 minutes. Carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 8

Serve and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
