Ingredients

  • 500 grams Button mushrooms
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 150 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 500 milliliters Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth or paper towel. Remove the stems if desired and set the mushrooms aside.

Step 2

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Coat each mushroom in flour, ensuring it is lightly but evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Step 4

Dip the floured mushroom into the beaten eggs, making sure it is fully covered.

Step 5

Roll the mushroom in the panko breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating adheres. Repeat with the remaining mushrooms.

Step 6

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat (175°C or 350°F). Test the temperature by dropping a small piece of breadcrumb into the oil—it should sizzle immediately.

Step 7

Fry the mushrooms in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove the mushrooms from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Step 9

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as garlic aioli, ranch dressing, or spicy mayo.
