Ingredients

  • 500 grams Panettone bread
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 500 ml Heavy cream
  • 250 ml Whole milk
  • 100 grams Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter (for greasing the dish)
  • 1 serving Optional toppings: powdered sugar, whipped cream, or caramel sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with the unsalted butter and set aside.

Step 2

Cut the panettone bread into 1-inch cubes. Arrange the cubes evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the custard mixture evenly over the panettone cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down on the bread with a spatula to help it absorb the liquid.

Step 5

Let the bread sit for 10–15 minutes to fully soak up the custard.

Step 6

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set (a knife inserted in the center should come out clean).

Step 7

Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Step 8

Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or caramel sauce if desired.
