Ingredients

  • 250 grams Paneer
  • 1 Red bell pepper
  • 1 Green bell pepper
  • 1 large Onion
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Spring onions (optional garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Slice the red and green bell peppers into thin strips. Thinly slice the onion.

Step 3

Mince the garlic cloves and grate the ginger.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, chili sauce, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large non-stick pan or wok over medium heat.

Step 6

Add the paneer cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove paneer from the pan and set aside.

Step 7

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 8

Add the sliced onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start turning translucent.

Step 9

Add the red and green bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

Step 10

Return paneer to the pan and pour the sauce mixture over the ingredients. Toss everything to combine thoroughly.

Step 11

Season with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats everything well.

Step 12

Garnish with chopped spring onions if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or over steamed rice.
