Ingredients

  • 250 g Paneer
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 0.5 cup Fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon (or to taste) Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Cilantro

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and the oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add finely chopped onions and sauté until they become golden brown.

Step 4

Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.

Step 5

Pour in the tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Stir well and cook for about 10 minutes until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

Step 6

Add the paneer cubes to the pan, gently mixing to coat them with the sauce.

Step 7

Pour in the water and add salt and sugar. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the remaining butter, fresh cream, garam masala, and kasuri methi. Stir everything together and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Turn off the heat and garnish with chopped cilantro.

Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
