Ingredients

  • 250 grams Paneer
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 large, finely chopped Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 cup Tomato puree
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste Salt
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Cilantro

Directions

Step 1

Cut the paneer into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add cumin seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter for about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, around 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

Step 6

Add the tomato puree and mix well. Cook until the mixture is thick and oil begins to separate from the masala, about 5 minutes.

Step 7

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to combine the spices.

Step 8

Pour in the half cup of water and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Step 9

Stir in the paneer cubes and cook them gently for about 5 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors.

Step 10

Add garam masala and kasuri methi, crushing the kasuri methi between your palms before adding.

Step 11

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Mix well and cook for another 3 minutes.

Step 12

Adjust salt if necessary.

Step 13

Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Step 14

Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
