Ingredients

  • 1 cup Full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 cup Almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 2 teaspoons Loose black tea
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

In a small pot, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the loose black tea to the boiling water and simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the tea to steep.

Step 3

Strain the tea into a separate bowl or container to remove the tea leaves.

Step 4

Return the strained tea to the pot and add the coconut milk, almond milk, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.

Step 5

Heat the mixture over low to medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil to avoid burning the milk.

Step 6

Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool slightly for 1-2 minutes.

To create the signature foam of teh tarik, carefully pour the tea back and forth between two heatproof cups or containers from a height, repeating 5-6 times until a frothy layer forms on the top. Be cautious to avoid spilling or splashing.
