Directions

Step 1

Rinse the raw shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Cut the lemon in half. Thinly slice one half into rounds and set it aside. Juice the other half into a small bowl.

In a large pot, add 1 cup of water, the smashed garlic clove, and the slices of lemon. Place a steamer basket in the pot, ensuring the water level is below the basket. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
