  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 0.5 cup Coconut flour
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 2 minced Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup, finely chopped Parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Pine nuts
  • 1 for egg wash Egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

To make the dough, combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and sea salt in a large bowl.

Step 3

Whisk together the eggs and olive oil in a separate bowl.

Step 4

Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Cover and set aside.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the onion and garlic until soft, about 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-8 minutes.

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto the center of the dough circle.

Fold the edges of the dough up slightly to form a shallow cup around the meat, leaving the center open.

Repeat with remaining dough and filling and place prepared Sfiha on the baking sheet.

Mix the egg yolk with water to create an egg wash and brush over the edges of the dough.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
