Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup coconut aminos
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot starch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine coconut aminos, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well to create the marinade.

Step 2

Add the sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 3

In a large skillet or wok, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef strips in batches (do not crowd the pan) and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Step 5

Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 6

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add red pepper flakes.

Step 7

Mix arrowroot starch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.

Step 8

Pour the marinade from the beef into the skillet, allowing it to simmer for about 1 minute.

Step 9

Add the arrowroot slurry to the skillet, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.

Step 10

Return the cooked beef to the skillet, tossing it to coat thoroughly with the sauce.

Step 11

Sprinkle chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and black pepper over the beef.

Step 12

Serve immediately, garnished with extra green onions if desired.
