Ingredients

  • 300 grams Ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut aminos
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot, grated
  • 1 Egg
  • 100 grams Coconut flour
  • 4 large eggs Egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons Tapioca starch
  • 100 milliliters Coconut oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 120 milliliters Water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, 1 tablespoon of coconut aminos, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, grated carrot, the whole egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

To make the wonton wrappers, whisk together coconut flour, tapioca starch, and egg whites in a separate bowl. Gradually add water while continuing to whisk until a thin batter forms. The batter should be similar in consistency to crepe batter.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of the batter into the skillet to form a thin, crepe-like wrapper. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until edges lift slightly and the wrapper sets. Carefully flip and cook for an additional 1 minute. Repeat with the remaining batter and set the wrappers aside to cool slightly.

Step 4

Once the wrappers are cool enough to handle, place a small spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper to enclose the filling, pinching the edges to seal tightly.

Step 5

Heat coconut oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the wontons in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook each wonton for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 6

Remove the wontons from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Step 7

Serve the wontons hot with the remaining coconut aminos as a dipping sauce.
