Ingredients

  • 100 grams white rice
  • 1000 milliliters water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice with 1000 milliliters of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and let it simmer for approximately 50-60 minutes, until the rice is completely soft and mushy.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from heat. Allow the rice mixture to cool slightly for about 10 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer the cooked rice and any remaining liquid to a blender. Add a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of honey to the blender.

Step 6

Blend the mixture on high speed for 2-3 minutes, until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

Step 7

Using a nut milk bag or a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth, strain the rice milk into a clean bowl or jug to remove any remaining rice pulp.

Step 8

Transfer the strained rice milk into a glass jug or bottle, and store it in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Shake well before using, as natural separation may occur.
