Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 0.5 cup Coconut aminos
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, freshly grated
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot powder
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2 stalks Green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil until well combined.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the arrowroot powder with water to make a slurry, then add it to the marinade, stirring well to incorporate.

Step 3

Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over them, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.

Step 4

Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for the best flavor.

Step 5

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 6

Remove the chicken from the marinade, discarding the used marinade.

Step 7

Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is no longer pink in the center.

Step 8

While the chicken is grilling, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 9

Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.

Step 10

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.

Step 11

Slice the grilled chicken and drizzle the thickened teriyaki sauce over the top.

Step 12

Garnish with thinly sliced green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
