Ingredients

  • 2 pieces red snapper fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 piece lime, cut into wedges for serving

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.

Step 2

Rinse the red snapper fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3

Place the fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring both sides are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the fish.

Step 4

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are white-hot before cooking. If using a gas grill, preheat on medium-high for about 10 minutes.

Step 5

Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. You can do this by dipping a folded paper towel in a bit of olive oil and using tongs to rub it over the grates.

Step 6

Place the marinated red snapper fillets on the grill, skin side down, if applicable. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has beautiful grill marks.

Step 7

Remove the fillets from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.

Step 8

Serve the grilled red snapper hot, garnished with lime wedges on the side for an extra citrus kick.
