  • 2 whole live lobsters
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 whole (cut into wedges) lemon
  • 2 tablespoons (chopped) fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

1. Prepare your equipment by ensuring you have a large pot with a tight-fitting lid and a steaming rack or basket that fits inside the pot.

2. Fill the pot with about 4 cups of water, or enough to just touch the bottom of the steaming rack. Add the sea salt to the water.

3. Bring the salted water to a rolling boil over high heat.

4. While waiting for the water to boil, rinse the live lobsters under cold water.

5. Once the water is boiling, place the lobsters on the steaming rack in the pot, cover tightly with the lid.

6. Steam the lobsters for about 15-18 minutes, depending on their size (roughly 7-8 minutes per pound). They should turn bright red and the antennae should pull out easily when they are done.

7. Carefully remove the lobsters from the pot using tongs and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
