Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup coconut oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium, diced onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 medium, diced carrots
  • 2 diced celery stalks
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large, for egg wash egg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, 1 large egg, melted coconut oil, and sea salt to form a dough. Press the dough into the base and sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust, then set aside.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
