Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces Crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh basil, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the tomato paste, stirring to combine.

Step 5

Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the sauce. Stir well.
