Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 8 large romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 8 slices pickles
  • 0.25 cup avocado oil mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove

Directions

Step 1

Begin by preparing the dairy-free cheese sauce. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup avocado oil mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 minced small garlic clove. Mix until smooth and set aside.

Step 2

Slice the medium tomato into 8 thin slices and half a red onion into thin rings, then set aside along with the 8 slices of pickles.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon sea salt, 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, 0.5 teaspoon onion powder, and 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder. Mix thoroughly with your hands or a spoon to ensure even distribution of the seasonings.

Step 4

Divide the seasoned ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape each into a small patty about 2 inches in diameter.

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the beef patties in a single layer.

Step 6

Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Step 7

While the patties are cooking, prepare your lettuce wraps. Wash and dry the 8 large romaine lettuce leaves, trimming if necessary to form small wraps.

Step 8

To assemble the sliders, take a lettuce leaf and place a cooked beef patty on top, followed by a slice of tomato, a few rings of red onion, one slice of pickle, and a spoonful of the cheese sauce. Top with another lettuce leaf to complete the slider.

Step 9

Repeat the assembly for the remaining patties and serve the sliders immediately.
