Ingredients

  • 500 grams cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 pieces dried red chilies
  • 10 leaves curry leaves
  • 1 piece green chili
  • 0.5 cup fresh coconut, grated
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the cabbage and set it aside. Slice the green chili lengthwise.

Step 2

Heat the coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the hot oil. Allow them to splutter for a few seconds.

Step 4

Break the dried red chilies into halves and add them to the pan along with the curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the sliced green chili and turmeric powder to the pan. Stir to combine.

Step 6

Introduce the chopped cabbage to the pan and sprinkle with salt. Stir well to coat the cabbage with the spices.

Step 7

Cover the pan with a lid and let the cabbage cook over medium-low heat for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.

Step 8

Once the cabbage is cooked, add the grated coconut and mix well to incorporate.

Step 9

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 10

Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Step 11

Serve warm as a side dish with your favorite Paleo meal.
