Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon slices
  • 1 cup white mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 4 slices Paleo-friendly pepper jack cheese
  • 8 leaves large lettuce leaves
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high to prepare for cooking the patties later.

Step 2

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to drain, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.

Step 3

Slice the mushrooms into thin pieces. In the same skillet with the leftover bacon fat, add the mushrooms and sauté them over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes or until they are browned and tender. Add the coconut aminos to the mushrooms, stir well, and continue cooking for another 2 minutes. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
