Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flank steak
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup Oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Slice the flank steak into thin strips, cutting against the grain for tenderness.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1/3 cup soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.

Step 3

In a small bowl, prepare the sauce by whisking together 1/4 cup oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/3 cup beef broth, and 1 tablespoon grated ginger. Set aside.

Step 4

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for 1-2 minutes, until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Step 5

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through, then remove and set aside.

Step 6

In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, followed by the minced garlic. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 7

Pour in the prepared sauce and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow it to thicken slightly, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Add the seared beef and blanched broccoli florets to the skillet. Toss to coat everything evenly in the sauce and cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm through.

Step 9

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal. Enjoy!
