Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fresh trout fillets
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 sheets aluminum foil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Peel the ginger and finely grate it. Finely mince the garlic cloves. Thinly slice the green onions, keeping the white and green parts separate.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.

Step 4

Rinse and pat dry the trout fillets with a paper towel. Place each fillet on an individual sheet of aluminum foil.

Step 5

Drizzle the marinade evenly over each trout fillet. Sprinkle the white parts of the green onions on top of the fish.

Step 6

Seal each piece of trout by folding the aluminum foil into packets, ensuring the edges are tightly sealed to trap the steam.

Step 7

Place the foil packets on a baking sheet and put them into the preheated oven. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 8

Carefully open the foil packets (be cautious of the hot steam) and transfer the fish to serving plates.

Step 9

Garnish with the green parts of the sliced green onions and serve immediately. Optionally, pair with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
