Ingredients

  • 14 oz Sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, semisweet chocolate chips, unsweetened cocoa powder, and butter.

Step 3

Stir continuously, allowing the mixture to melt and combine into a smooth, glossy consistency. Take care to avoid scorching.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If using, fold in the chopped nuts for added texture.

Step 5

Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 6

Place the baking dish into the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges look firm and the center is slightly set.

Step 7

Remove the fudge from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before transferring it to the refrigerator to set completely, approximately 2 hours.

Step 8

Once chilled and firm, cut the fudge into 16 squares using a sharp knife. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
