Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork back ribs
  • 6 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chili powder (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off. This helps the seasoning penetrate the meat better.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder (if using). This forms your dry rub.

Step 4

Rub the dry mixture generously over both sides of the rib racks, ensuring they are well-coated.

Step 5

Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, meat side up, and cover them tightly with aluminum foil to trap the steam. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours.

Step 6

While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, ketchup, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 7

After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the aluminum foil. Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the ribs, coating them evenly.

Step 8

Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered. Bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, brushing with glaze every 10 minutes, until the glaze caramelizes and becomes sticky.

Step 9

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice into individual ribs and serve with any remaining glaze on the side.
