Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Tortilla chips
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup Cooked ground beef or chicken (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Black beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 0.25 cup Sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 0.5 cup Diced tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup Chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 0.5 cup Guacamole
  • 0.5 cup Salsa

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 3

Spread an even layer of tortilla chips across the prepared baking sheet. Make sure the chips are slightly overlapping, but not piled too heavily, to allow for even cooking.

Step 4

Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese over the chips.

Step 5

If using, evenly scatter the cooked ground beef or chicken and black beans over the cheese layer.

Step 6

Top with the remaining shredded cheese, followed by the sliced jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and half of the chopped green onions.

Step 7

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Step 8

Remove the nachos from the oven and allow them to cool slightly for 2 minutes.

Step 9

Garnish with the freshly chopped cilantro and the remaining green onions.

Step 10

Serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side for dipping.
