Ingredients

  • 16 ounces Button mushrooms
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel. Trim the stems if necessary.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until the butter is fully melted.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 4

Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and release their juices.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and ground black pepper.

Step 6

Pour the broth mixture over the mushrooms in the skillet. Stir to combine and coat the mushrooms evenly.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer the mushrooms for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces and the mushrooms are tender.

Step 8

Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper, if needed.

Step 9

Serve the sautéed mushrooms hot as a side dish or a topping for steak, chicken, or burgers.
