Ingredients

  • 2.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 2 cups Hershey's Chipits (milk, dark, or semi-sweet chocolate chips)
  • 1 cup Chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter-sugar mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the Hershey's Chipits and nuts (if using) with a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should look slightly undercooked.

Step 9

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
