Cut the haloumi cheese into thick slices, about 1 cm (0.4 inches) thick. Pat the slices dry using a paper towel to avoid splattering when frying.
Finely chop the red chilli and mince the garlic. If using fresh oregano, gently strip the leaves from the stems.
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
