Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 can (12 ounces) Orange Crush soda
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Cold water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Spray the inside of the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray or line it with a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup.

Step 2

Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of the crock pot and season them with salt and black pepper.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the Orange Crush soda, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth.

Step 4

Pour the mixture over the chicken thighs, ensuring that the chicken is completely submerged in the sauce.

Step 5

Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low for 5 hours or on high for 3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

Once the chicken is done cooking, remove it from the crock pot and place it on a plate. Tent it with foil to keep warm.

Step 7

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry.

Step 8

Turn the crock pot to high and slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens (about 5-10 minutes).

Step 9

Return the chicken to the crock pot to coat it in the thickened sauce.

Step 10

Serve the Orange Crush Chicken over rice, mashed potatoes, or with a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
