Ingredients

  • 3 pieces Large yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups Milk
  • 0.5 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, chopped for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel the onions and cut them into 1/2-inch thick slices. Separate into individual rings and set aside.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil with a pinch of salt. Add the onion rings to the boiling water and cook for 5 minutes to soften slightly. Drain and set aside to cool.
