Ingredients

  • 300 grams spaghetti
  • 3 medium-sized yellow onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 200 grams plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons red chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 0 to taste grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the spaghetti and set it aside.

Peel and thinly slice the yellow onions. Mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes, or until the onions are golden and caramelized.
