Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Ginger (fresh, grated)
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water (for cornstarch slurry)
  • 2 stalks Scallions (sliced, for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the foil to allow the wings to cook evenly.

Step 2

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Arrange them in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they don’t touch each other.

Step 3

Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

Step 4

While the wings are baking, prepare the sticky sauce. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture begins to simmer.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce, stirring constantly. Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 6

Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl. Pour the sticky sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.

Step 7

Return the sauced wings to the wire rack on the baking sheet. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize and the wings to become sticky.

Step 8

Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with sliced scallions and sesame seeds.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy!
