Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Fresh lemons
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Water (for simple syrup)
  • 4 cups Cold water
  • 2 cups Ice
  • 4 slices Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • 4 leaves Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Wash the lemons thoroughly to remove any wax or residue on the peel.

Step 2

Roll each lemon firmly under your palm on a countertop to loosen the juices.

Step 3

Cut each lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer. Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp, yielding about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

Step 4

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water to make the simple syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously, until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Step 5

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to mix.

Step 6

Add ice directly into the pitcher or into individual serving glasses.

Step 7

Pour the lemonade over the ice and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves, if desired.

Step 8

Serve chilled and enjoy!
