Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 cups Bread flour
  • 0.5 cups Rolled oats
  • 0.5 cups Active sourdough starter (fed and bubbly)
  • 0.75 cups Milk
  • 0.25 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (softened)
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Instant dry yeast

Directions

Step 1

Add wet ingredients to the bread machine pan in the following order: sourdough starter, milk, water, honey, and softened butter.

Step 2

Sprinkle the rolled oats evenly over the liquid ingredients.

Step 3

Add the whole wheat flour and bread flour on top of the oats to form a mound.

Step 4

Make a small well in the center of the flour mound and add the instant dry yeast into the well. Avoid letting the yeast touch the liquid ingredients.
