Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh lump crab meat
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 pcs Green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup Toasted pecans, roughly chopped
  • 4 pcs Brioche buns
  • 4 pcs Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pcs Tomato slices
  • 0.5 cup Remoulade sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, egg, and chopped green onions. Be careful not to break down the crab meat too much.

Step 2

Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 15 minutes to allow it to firm up.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties. Lightly press chopped pecans onto both sides of each patty for a nutty crust.

Step 4

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add 2 patties to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.

Step 5

Repeat the process with the remaining butter, oil, and patties.

Step 6

Toast the brioche buns lightly in the same skillet or an oven, if desired.

Step 7

To assemble, spread a generous amount of remoulade sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, a crab patty, and a tomato slice. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your Nutty for New England Naughty but Nice Crab Burger with your favorite side!
