Ingredients

  • 200 grams All-purpose flour
  • 50 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 150 grams Unsalted butter
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 150 grams Light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 200 grams Nut-free chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, beating until well combined.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the nut-free chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are soft and puffy.

Step 9

Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
