Ingredients

  • 200 grams Fresh tuna (sushi-grade)
  • 4 cups Mixed salad greens
  • 0.5 cup Daikon radish (peeled and julienned)
  • 1 whole Avocado (peeled, pitted, and sliced)
  • 1 cup Grape tomatoes (halved)
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Grapeseed oil
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 clove Garlic (finely grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (finely grated)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Slice the sushi-grade tuna into 2-inch rectangular blocks (approximately 1 inch thick). Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the grapeseed oil and sear the tuna blocks for about 10–15 seconds on each side. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 3

Using a sharp knife, slice the seared tuna into thin sashimi-style pieces and set aside.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, lemon juice, grated garlic, and grated ginger to make the Matsuhisa dressing.

Step 5

In a large salad bowl, combine mixed greens, julienned daikon radish, grape tomatoes, and avocado slices.

Step 6

Drizzle half of the Matsuhisa dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat.

Step 7

Divide the salad mixture evenly onto two plates. Arrange the seared tuna slices on top of the greens for each plate.

Step 8

Drizzle the remaining dressing over the tuna and garnish with additional daikon or sesame seeds, if desired.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy the fresh, flavorful taste of Nobu's Sashimi Salad.
