  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the bitter melons thoroughly under running water.

Step 2

Slice the bitter melons thinly into rings (approximately 2-3 mm thick). Discard the seeds if they are too hard, but tender seeds can be left intact.

Place the bitter melon slices in a large bowl and sprinkle them with 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix well and let the slices rest for 10 minutes. This helps reduce the bitterness.

After 10 minutes, rinse the bitter melon slices under water to remove excess salt and bitter juices, then pat them dry using a kitchen towel or paper towels.
