Ingredients

  • 10 sheets phyllo dough sheets
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter
  • 1 cups feta cheese
  • 0.5 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Melt the butter in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Keep it warm and set aside.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine feta cheese (crumbled), ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, eggs, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a cohesive filling.

Step 4

Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with melted butter.

Step 5

Unroll the phyllo dough and keep it covered with a damp towel to prevent drying out.

Step 6

Place one sheet of phyllo dough in the baking dish and brush it lightly with melted butter. Repeat this process with 4 more sheets, buttering each layer.

Step 7

Spread half of the cheese filling evenly over the phyllo layers.

Step 8

Add 5 more sheets of phyllo dough on top, brushing each sheet with butter as before.

Step 9

Spread the remaining cheese filling over the second phyllo layer.

Step 10

Top with another 5 layers of phyllo dough, buttering each sheet.

Step 11

Using a sharp knife, score the top phyllo layers into squares or diamond shapes, being careful not to cut all the way through.

Step 12

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crisp.

Step 13

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before cutting all the way through along the scored lines.

Step 14

Serve warm or at room temperature.
