  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 cups breadcrumbs

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until they become soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, diced ham, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, cream of mushroom soup, sautéed onions and garlic, frozen peas, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 4

Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish with butter or cooking spray.

Step 5

Transfer the rice and ham mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 6

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly across the top of the casserole.

Step 7

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Step 8

After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden and the casserole is bubbling.

Step 9

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
