Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground chicken
  • 0.5 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese slices
  • 4 slices Ham slices
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 4 whole Burger buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices Tomato slices
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, bread crumbs, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty slightly larger than the burger bun, as the patties will shrink during cooking.

Step 3

Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Place the chicken patties in the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 5

During the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid to allow the cheese to melt.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly on the skillet or grill pan until golden brown.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by spreading 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice.

Step 8

Place the chicken patty with ham and melted cheese on top of the tomato slice.

Step 9

Close the burger with the top half of the bun and serve immediately with your favorite side dish.
