Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 ounces each) salmon fillets
  • 0.333 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

Step 2

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.

Step 3

In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the water to create a slurry. Gradually stir this into the saucepan and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 4

Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush a generous amount of the teriyaki sauce over each fillet, reserving some sauce for later.

Step 5

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through. Cooking time may vary based on the thickness of the fillets.

Step 6

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and brush with more teriyaki sauce.

Step 7

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired. Serve hot with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables.
