Ingredients

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted, for topping)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the wide egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, to the cheese mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and raisins (if using).

Step 5

Fold the cooked egg noodles into the cheese mixture until well coated. Transfer this mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the crushed cornflakes, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the noodle kugel.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the kugel is set in the center.

Step 8

Let the kugel cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled. Enjoy!
