Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces cooked pasta (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the shrimp with paper towels. Season with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter.

Step 3

Once the butter melts, add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 6

Slowly whisk in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and create a smooth, creamy sauce.

Step 7

Stir in the lemon juice and return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Simmer for 2 minutes to warm the shrimp and coat them in the sauce.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over cooked pasta, if desired.
