Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 lb ground pork
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 unit large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk, stirring to let the breadcrumbs absorb the milk completely.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients together just until combined. Do not overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, making sure they are uniform in size for even cooking.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Place the meatballs in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are browned all over. You may need to cook them in batches if the skillet is small.

Step 7

Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 8

For serving, you can add the meatballs to your favorite marinara sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes to cook through completely.

Step 9

Serve hot over spaghetti, in a sub roll, or as an appetizer with a side of dipping sauce. Enjoy!
