Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1.25 cups Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, gently warm the milk over low heat until lukewarm. Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add the cooled milk mixture, ensuring it is not too hot to avoid cooking the eggs.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 5

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook for 5–6 minutes.

Step 6

Lightly grease a large bowl with vegetable oil and place the dough into the bowl. Cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Step 8

Punch down the risen dough to release the air. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it into the prepared pan.

Step 9

Cover the pan loosely and let the dough rise again for 30–40 minutes, or until it has risen just above the edge of the pan.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Step 11

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 12

Slice and serve as desired. Enjoy!
